IPL 2019: Six Held For ‘Misbehaviour’ During SRH vs KKR Match

Six people including famous Telugu TV actor C Prashanthi were booked on Sunday, 21 April, for creating nuisance and obstructing a person from watching the Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

The incident took place during the 4.00 pm game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the complaint was filed by Vice President of Bharath Financial Inclusion Limited, Santhosh Upadhyay, who alleged that the six accused while watching the game from a corporate box got drunk and kept blocking his view despite complaining to them.

The report further added that even after police intervention, they reportedly continued their misbehaviour and also went on to abuse and threaten Upadhyay.

Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under Sections 341, 188, and 506 of the IPC and Section 70(b) of the City Police Act against the accused persons.

The other accused are identified as K Purnima (27), K Priya (23), V Srikanth Reddy (48), L Suresh (28), and G Venu Gopal (38).

The Sunrisers Hyderabad who were playing their sixth game at home this season, ended up with their fifth win of the campaign this season on Sunday.

Openers David Warner (67) and Jonny Bairstow (80*) added 131 for the first wicket as SRH chased down 161 inside 15 overs.
