IPL 2019: Rabada Still Holds the Purple Cap, 8 Ahead of 2nd Place

With the IPL nearing its end, Delhi Capitals’ Kagiso Rabada holds the purple cap for now.

Kagiso Rabada from Delhi Capitals has been in magnificent form throughout the 2019 IPL season and has accounted for the highest number of wickets so far.

Rabada has picked up 25 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 14.72 and economy rate of 7.82.

The next best is Imran Tahir of Chennai Super Kings, who has accounted for 17 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 17.58 and the economy of 6.50.

Delhi Capitals too, has been on a roll this season. Led by Shreyas Iyer, The Capitals currently lead the points table and have qualified for the playoffs along with MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings.

The presence of Saurav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting in the dugout seem to have worked wonders for the team.

It is worth noting that Delhi has qualified for the playoffs after a long wait of 7 years. They would like to make the most of this opportunity and finally win their maiden title this time around. 

The IPL is headed towards its business end and with the playoffs set to start from 7 May, and the World Cup looming around, players would like to perform at their level best.
