Rishabh Pant’s blistering 128 off 63 deliveries, the highest score by an Indian in the IPL history was overshadowed by Williamson and Co. as SRH put up a calm batting display to snatch the match away from Delhi Daredevils with 9 wickets in hand in Delhi on Thursday. Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan put up an unbeaten 176-run stand to book a place in the play-offs in IPL 2018.

The visitors overcame the early loss off opener Alex Hales (14) and riding on Dhawan’s (92) sublime batting display in his home ground went on to demoralise bottom-placed Delhi's spirited effort midway into the match. With the loss, Delhi's hopes of reaching the play-offs are over.

Earlier, Pant compensated after being involved in two avoidable run-outs. He stepped up to the occasion with his maiden IPL century to rescue Delhi from a dismal start and help them post a challenging 187/5.

The win maintains Sunrisers Hyderabad’s top spot in the league with an indisputable 18 points from 11 matches and ensures their position for the play-offs. Delhi on the other hand occupy the last spot with 6 points having played 11 matches.

Brief Scores: Delhi Daredevils 187/5 (Rishabh Pant 128 not out, Harshal Patel 24; Shakib Al Hasan 4/27) lose to Sunrisers Hyderabad 191/1 (Shikhar Dhawan 92 not out, Kane Williamson 83 not out) by 9 wickets.
