The 19-year-old who was training at the IMG academy in Florida for the last five years was the number 52 pick for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Draft on Friday. (watch video)
Satnam Singh is now part of 60 young men who will play NBA basketball for the first time next season.
Earlier in April, Gursimran “Sim” Bhullar became the first player of Indian origin to play in the NBA when he turned out for the Kings in three games.
Since their inaugural 1980-81 season, the Dallas Mavericks have won three division titles (1987, 2007, 2010), two conference championships (2006, 2011), and one NBA Championship (2011).
