Hotstar’s Viewership Triples Compared to Last Year for ISL Opener

The new season of the Indian Super League began on a great note in Kochi.

The new season of the Indian Super League began on a great note in Kochi. Hotstar, the online broadcaster for ISL (season 4), has recorded over 3 times more viewers as compared to the last season on the opening night of the tournament. Atletico de Kolkata and Kerala Blasters faced off against each other in the ISL opener.

The League, this year, will be played over 17 weeks, increased from 12 weeks in the last season, and also two new teams have joined the tournament – Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC.

The opening match also recorded a 5 times increase in total time spent (minutes watched) compared to the opening match of Season 3.

The Indian Super League, which began on 17 November, will carry on till March 2018.
