Former Manchester United and Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has been signed up by Kerala Blasters as their marquee player ahead of the 2017-18 season of Indian Super League, the club announced on Wednesday.
Former Bulgarian international Berbatov, 36, will pair up with his former United teammate Wes Brown in the team co-owned by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
The 36-year old will join the Kerala side on a one year contract after becoming a free agent since leaving the Greek side PAOK Salonika a year ago.
He had joined United from Tottenham for a then club- record fee of 30 million pounds (USD 39 million) and won two Premier League titles with the English side.
Another Old Trafford veteran, former assistant coach Rene Meulensteen, is Kerala's new boss.
