Putin’s Umbrella Amuses Tweeple as Macron, Kolinda Have No Cover

World Cup 2018 came to an end with France taking home the winner’s trophy after defeating Croatia 4-2 in Russia.

Twitter trolled Russian President Vladimir Putin for letting the other presidents get drenched while a henchman held his umbrella during the post-match ceremony of World Cup 2018 final.

World Cup 2018 came to an end with France taking home the winner’s trophy for the second time, after defeating Croatia 4-2 in a spectacular final in Moscow, Russia. With six goals in just 90 minutes, the match was filled with much drama and adrenaline rush.

Even the presentation ceremony received its tad bit of drama, when a torrential downpour soaked the spectators, the officials, the players and even the presidents.

During the post-match ceremony when the Russian president, Vladmir Putin was handing out the trophy to the winning team on the stage, he had his personal umbrella holder already in place to shield him from the rain.

So while the President of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and the French President Emmanuel Macron who were also present on the stage got drenched, Putin was the only one who was offered an umbrella.

This incident raised a lot of eyeballs on social media as people took to Twitter to mock the Russian president. From Putin memes to one-liner jokes, the micro-blogging site was soon flooded by them.
