IPL 2018: CSK Fans Whistle Away to Pune, Literally

Chennai Central station was colored yellow as scores of ecstatic Chennai Super Kings fans boarded the Whistle Podu Express headed to Pune.

Yes, you heard that right.

Much to the delight of CSK supporters, the Super Kings’ team management organised a special fans-only train to ferry the Yellow Brigade from Chennai to Pune for Chennai’s ‘home-game’ against Rajasthan. The game is scheduled to be played on Friday, 20 April.

The Whistle Podu Express was flagged-off from Chennai’s central station in the morning of Thursday, 19 April, and will reach Pune the next day. Following the match, the train will return to Chennai on Saturday, April 21.

The travelling, lodging, and boarding expenses of the fans will be taken care by the CSK team management.

Fans who received the opportunity to travel to Pune and catch the match live were handpicked by the team’s fan club heads. Selected people with pre-purchased match-tickets for the game to be played in Chennai received this opportunity, while others who regularly attended CSK fan club’s social outreach activities also got be a part of the experience.

CSK took to Twitter and shared pictures of the train before it left Chennai for Pune.
