Melbourne Renegades keeper Emma Inglis's premature celebration against Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League game in Victoria, on Wednesday, nearly cost her side the game.
The Sixers needed three runs from the final ball. Right after the ball was bowled, Inglis threw the ball in the air and jumped with joy, giving Sixers ample time to score another run. With that, the scores of both teams was tied at 120-runs, pushing for a super-over.
The video also shows players and umpires engaging in a discussion post this incident. The high-octane drama in the match continued as the super over also went down to the wire, with the Renegades winning the match in the last ball.
The Sydney Sixers are the defending chamipons of the women’s league.
