Virat Kohli was forced to sit out of the Dharamsala Test due to the injury he sustained in Ranchi, and it looks like the shoulder strain will keep him on the sidelines for some more time.

Speaking to the media after India’s series victory on Tuesday, Virat confirmed that he is in doubt for the early stages of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saying his shoulder is still a few weeks from letting him get in the thick of things.

The IPL begins on 5 April and the Royal Challengers Bangalore face defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opener.

Kohli had hurt his shoulder while fielding during the third Test in Ranchi, forcing him to miss his first five-day game in 54 matches.

For RCB, Kohli has missed only one game and that was way back in the inaugural edition in 2008.

The star batsman had an unusually quiet series against Australia, scoring just 46 runs in five innings.
