The Indian team management have released fast bowler Mohammed Siraj and middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari from the Test squad to allow them to participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy knockouts, which begins on Sunday.
Manish Pandey and Shubman Gill have substituted the players in the Indian squad for the remainder of the second Test against West Indies in Hyderabad.
Siraj received his maiden Test call-up after performing exceedingly well in the India A circuit. He picked up an eleven-wicket haul against Australia A last month. Vihari scored a half-century on his Test debut against England. However, both didn’t get the nod for the two Tests against West Indies.
Siraj and Vihari will square off against each other in the Vijay Hazare quarter-final match between Hyderabad and Andhra on 15 October in Bengaluru.
