Shahid Afridi may have (finally) retired from international cricket, but the Pakistani cricketer still has dozens of fans following him no matter where he plays.

Even if the venue are the freezing locales of Switzerland where he was taking part in a friendly game of ‘ice cricket’ with fellow retired cricketers over the last few days.

While the new format of the sport did make news, what has taken the internet by storm, however, is a short video of Afridi interacting with his Indian fans. In the clip below you can see the former all-rounder oblige fans with pictures and walk down a line, till he walks up to a fan holding the Indian tricolour.

While the fan seems to be looking for someone to take their picture, Afridi asks her to hold the flag properly before getting clicked. The gesture has earned the cricketer much praise from his fans on both sides of the border.

On the sidelines of the ‘ice cricket’ tournament, Afridi had earlier earned more love from his Indian fans when he praised the current Indian skipper Virat Kohli by calling him a “fantastic human being”.

"My relationship with Virat is not dictated by political situation. Virat is a fantastic human being and an ambassador of cricket for his country, just like I am for my country," Afridi told PTI during an interaction on the sidelines of the St Moritz Ice Cricket Tournament.

"He (Kohli) has always shown a lot of respect and has even gone out of his way to present a signed jersey for my foundation (Shahid Afridi Foundation)," he added.
