After scoring a half-century off just 23 balls, Rohit Sharma took just 12 more deliveries to smash the joint fastest T20 ton, and help India post a massive 260/5 against Sri Lanka on Friday, 22 December.

To get to the milestone, Rohit blasted 11 fours and eight sixes, matching South African batsman David Miller, who had taken the same number of deliveries during their 83-run win against Bangladesh in October.

Rohit Sharma scored 108 of his runs in boundaries only!

The Indian opener fell to Dushmantha Chameera in the 13th over after making 118 with the help of 12 fours and 10 sixes, and set the record for the highest score by an Indian in T20 Internationals.

In an incredible display of hitting, rather punishing of the bowlers, the Indian captain smashed 12 fours and 10 sixes during his 43-ball stay at the crease.

Rohit is also the only Indian to score two T20 International hundreds. KL Rahul and Suresh Raina have one each. However, in all T20s, the Indian has equalled Virat Kohli’s record of centuries.

India's total is joint second highest in T20Is with only Australia's 263 for three against Sri Lanka being a better effort. Sri Lanka had scored 260-6 against Kenya at Johannesburg in 2007.

Rohit Sharma raised a 165-run stand for the first wicket, the highest for India, with Lokesh Rahul, who scored 89 off 49 balls
