After the wicketkeeper-batsman relinquished his captaincy of the Indian cricket team in January 2017, Virat Kohli emerged a successful leader for the squads in all three formats. However, there’s still a very special place for Mahi in his fans’ hearts, as well as the Indian line-up.

He had a few average tours earlier this year but ‘Thala’ returned to the IPL in Chennai Super Kings’ yellows, and made it seem like the franchise never left.

Dhoni led from the front, scoring when needed, winning games when needed, while still wicketkeeping like a pro and captaining with his astute mind, like he has in the past decade.

Captain cool went on to guide CSK to the title in their comeback year, and now is part of yet another England tour.
