Rumours regarding MS Dhoni’s retirement started making headlines soon after India’s exit from the World Cup. Indian skipper Virat Kohli denied having given a final word on the development and instead said that nothing is confirmed from Dhoni’s side as yet.

Earlier, another report had suggested that India's last match in the World Cup would also be MS Dhoni's last game in India colours.

"You never know with MS Dhoni. But it is unlikely that he will continue to play for India after this World Cup. But since his decisions to quit captaincy from the three formats have been taken so suddenly, it is very difficult to predict at the moment," a senior BCCI official had told PTI.

Meanwhile, if reports from Republic are to be believed, the former Indian skipper is keen on joining the Armed Forces. They further said that MS Dhoni’s manager has dropped hints of him joining the Armed Forces after he takes a decision on his retirement.

Speculations regarding MS Dhoni joining BJP after retirement from international cricket is making huge noise in the media.

Dhoni’s sentiments regarding the Indian army are well known to his followers and fans. He has always been open about joining the Indian army post his cricketing career. However, no final word has been said on the same yet.

Meanwhile, in another report by Republic, it has been said that Dhoni was approached by the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) officials to join the political party. BJP Working President JP Nadda, on Sunday, 14 July added more fuel to this speculation when he said everyone is welcome to join the party.

“The president was in contact with everyone at that time. But our party is inclusive - artists, sports persons, they all are important part of the country. All are welcome.”

Even BJP leader Sanjay Paswan, who is a former MP from Bihar said that MS Dhoni could be following Gautam Gambhir’s footsteps.

MS Dhoni did not have a World Cup to remember by his standards. He scored only two fifties in this World Cup, including one in the World Cup semifinal against New Zealand. He scored an unbeaten 50 but failed to help India qualify.
