India’s U-19 World Cup star Manjot Kalra, who scored 101* against Australia in the final last month, said that he is only looking forward to play with Gautam Gambhir in the upcoming season of the IPL. Kalra will be playing in the Delhi Daredevils set-up alongside the veteran opener.
The Quint caught up with Kalra at an event hosted by GNC India at New Delhi on 28 February.
However, the 19-year-old is excited to face Delhi’s premier bowlers – Kagiso Rabada, Chris Morris and Mohammad Shami in the nets.
When asked about the chances of the team in this IPL, Kalra said that Delhi will win the competition if the team plays well.
While speaking about his innings in the U-19 World Cup final, Kalra revealed the greatest advice given by Rahul Dravid to him.
If given a chance to play in the 2008 IPL, Kalra said that he would liked to play for MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings side.
