These were the runs that Mahendra Singh Dhoni smashed in the last five balls to jump from 35 to an unbeaten 52 in the second T20 at Centurion.

The wicketkeeper-batsman and Manish Pandey slammed quickfire half-centuries to guide India to a challenging 188 for four against South Africa on Wednesday, 21 February.

While Pandey remained unbeaten on 79 off 48 balls, veteran Dhoni made 52 off 28 deliveries.

The duo shared 98 runs for the fifth wicket in just 9.2 overs to take India to the commanding total.

Dhoni’s unbeaten 52-run knocked – that included four boundaries and three sixes –was his second-highest Twenty20 score, second only to his 56 against England in Bangalore last year.

In fact, his 27-ball half-century is also the joint-fastest by an Indian batsman against South Africa in T20 Internationals. Shikhar Dhawan too had smashed his fifty off 27 deliveries during the first T20 against South Africa in Johannesburg.
