India are set to kick-off their month-long tour at home against South Africa wth a T20 International at Dharamshala on Sunday, 15 September. However, weather forecasts suggest that there is a chance that rain could play spoilsport in the series opener at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.
According to AccuWeather, there’s about a 7 percent chance of rain during the playing hours of the first T20 between India and South Africa.
However heavy rain delayed the toss for the T20I series opener at the HPCA stadium, which is equipped with quality drainage facility.
The minimum is a five-over per side encounter for it to be official game.
About an hour before the toss, former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar as well senior journalist and cricket expert Harsha Bhogle reported that heavy rains had hit Dharamshala.
The BCCI’s official Twitter handle also posted a tweet that read, “Raining in Dharamsala at the moment”.
About 25 minutes before the toss was scheduled to take place, the hosts on the pre-match show of the official broadcaster reported that the rain had reduced to a slight drizzle and that the covers were being removed.
