Reports suggest that Ambati Rayudu has announced his retirement from international cricket following his World Cup snub. He failed to make India’s World Cup-bound 15-member squad, and was kept in reserve. After Shikhar Dhawan’s injury, Pant was selected over Rayudu to replace the opener. To pour salt on Rayudu’s wounds, Mayank Agarwal was given preference over the Chennai Super Kings star when Vijay Shankar suffered an injury.

His dissatisfaction was clearly visible in his sarcastic tweet, seen as response to the BCCI’s description of Vijay Shankar as a ‘three-dimensional player’. See below!

Reports of Rayudu’s retirement came as a shock to fans. Take a look at some of the tweets in support of the cricketer.

But it looks like Rayudu has options available, if he ever decides to return to international cricket!

Iceland Cricket were quick to respond to Mayank Agarwal’s selection over Ambati Rayudu. Here is a look at their sarcastic tweet offering Rayudu citizenship!
