Twitter Proud of ‘Golden Girls’ After Relay Gold at Asian Games

The Indian women’s 4x400m relay quartet consisting of ‘golden girls’ Hima Das, Saritaben Gayakwad, Vismaya Koroth and Poovamma Machettira made India proud at on Thursday, 30 August as they brought home their fifth consecutive gold at the Asian Games 2018. Their win has brought India’s gold medal tally to 13.

The defending champions finished the race with a time of 3 minutes and 28.72 seconds. Bahrain got silver with 3:30.61 while the quartet from Vietnam clocked their season's best time of 3:33.23 to bag the bronze medal.

Additionally, the men’s relay team clinched a silver in the 4x400m event, Jinson Johnson won gold in the men's 1500m, while PU Chita and Seema Punia won bronze medals in women’s 1500m and discus throw respectively.
