Asian Games 2018: Dharun Ayyasamy Wins Silver in Men 400m Hurdles

Indian Athlete Dharun Ayyasamy claimed the silver medal in the men's 400 metres hurdles at the 18th Asian Games here on Monday.

After Indian sprinters Muhammad Anas Yahiya and Hima Das bagged silver medals in 400m sprint and Dutee Chand getting a silver in 100m sprint, Tajinder Pal Singh Toor won the gold medal in Men's Shot Put. Taking the medal tally to 5, Indian athlete Dharun Ayyasamy won a silver medal in Men's 400m hurdle race.

Dharun produced a personal best of 48.96 seconds to finish second behind Qatari Abderrahman Samba, who delivered a Games record timing of 47.6 seconds.

Indian athletes have so far had a fairly successful outing with 5 medals in 9 days in track and field discipline. 

After the 5 medals, Indian Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is also set to play the Javelin Throw final. If he bags a medal, Indian athletes will have a combined six medals in the first nine days of the 18th Asian Games being held in Indonesia.
