Anil Kumble Among 57 Other Applicants For India Head Coach Job

The race for the post of head coach for the Indian cricket team got more interesting with Anil Kumble being confirmed as one of the 57 applicants for the job, according to Wisden India. BCCI disclosed the number of applications on Sunday without giving out names.

India’s leading wicket taker in both, Tests and ODIs, is regarded to have one of the best cricket brains in the world. His advices and suggestions will certainly help the Indian team.

Some of the bigger names who have applied for the post are current Chairman of Selectors Sandeep Patil, Ravi Shastri and Venkatesh Prasad, Balwinder Singh Sandhu and Hrishikesh Kanitkar.

The board has sent all the applications to the Secretary for ‘primary scrutiny’, with regards to the applicants meeting the set eligibility criteria. After that, the list of candidates who meet the criteria will be processed for further consideration.
