The first time you saw Dhruv Sehgal, was probably in the two Filter Copy sketches he did alongside Mithila Palkar, which were ‘Annoying Things Boyfriends Do’, and ‘Things Girlfriends Say.’ The two videos and the first season of Little Things on YouTube, made the two of them one of the most loved couples on the internet.

This time on OffScreen, we speak to Dhruv Sehgal because not only is he acting in Little Things, but has also written it. The second season of the show got picked up by Netflix, and so has the third season. Ahead of its release on the streaming giant we caught up with Dhruv on balancing both roles of being an actor and a writer.

Does he have any writing hacks, how does he deal with a writer’s block? What inspires him? What are the skills he was required to acquire when he switched to being an actor? Dhruv answers all that and more.

The first season of Little Things had a lighter vein mostly dealing with stuff like the feeling of missing out because of social media or late night food cravings. Season two, delved more into their personal equation- delving into the complexities of relationships and managing a career. Season three is about dealing with the problems that come with being in a long distance relationship.

In ‘OffScreen’, we recount stories from the world of movies and web series, featuring people who toil behind the scenes, people who basically work off-screen to create magic on screen.

Little Things has been written by Dhruv Sehgal and co-directed by Ruchir Arun and Sumit Aroraa and streams on Netflix, November 9 onwards.
