US President Donald Trump announced that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State terror group, was killed in a US military raid on Saturday, 26 October.

Baghdadi was the leader that the Islamic State grew around. In the past, there have been rumours and whispers of Baghdadi’s death, but this is the first time the US administration has confirmed the news.
