An exhibition is currently underway in Mosul, the devastated northern city of Iraq. The Federal Police Headquarters has put on display exhibits of combat vehicles and suicide cars captured during the operation against the Islamic State (ISIS).

Trucks and SUVs have been morphed into armoured vehicles, with crude metal sheets and reinforced glass by Islamic State terrorists. The level of innovation with which IS terrorists have approached the making of their weapons and hiding their tanks and bombs has resulted in them looking straight out of the blockbuster dystopia, Mad Max: Fury Road.

Mosul was recently liberated by the US-led coalition forces that have been backing Iraqi soldiers in a drawn out eight-month long operation against IS.
