As US President Barack Obama turns 55, considerably greyer but just as lively as he was when he began almost 8 years ago, here is a look at some candid pictures during his time in office.
When you’re the President of the United States, it is easy to become disconnected from the rest of the common folk in the country. Or the world, for that matter. But as Barack Obama nears the end of his term, one thing is for sure; he is the most relatable President in history.
Whether he relishes an apple at the supermarket or is eviscerated by a child in a Spiderman costume, Obama’s term is filled with wonderfully candid moments: the man on the pedestal is like any other man on the street.
In this edition of Quint Lens, we curate a photo feature by Pete Souza, the Chief Official White House photographer as he captures candid moments from an eight-year long presidency about to come to an end.
