The streets of Kashmir remain silent and abandoned, 72 hours after the government effectively revoked Article 370, which granted a special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

After imposing Section 144 in the state on 4 August, the Modi government changed India’s relations with Jammu and Kashmir by effectively revoking Article 370 through a presidential order on 5 August.

As the Valley stays ensconced an atmosphere of extreme hostility and fear, The Quint’s Shadab Moizee captures the reality from ground zero.
