Thousands took to the streets in Delhi and Bengaluru to celebrate the 12th Queer Pride Parade on Sunday, 24 November. The parade saw people expressing their disapproval of oppressive attacks and discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community.

Celebrating free speech and spirit of democracy, the protesters condemned the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill 2019, calling it detrimental to the community as a whole.

A diverse range of issues including acceptance of personal expression and breaking of caste, gender, religious and language barriers were raised by protesters at the march.

One of the key highlights of the march was protesters’ expressing disapproval of the Transgender Persons Bill 2019, with many terming it divisive and regressive in nature.
