‘Your Tears Sear the Heart’: J&K Cops Pen Moving Letter for Zohra
Abdul Rashid was shot at by suspected militants in Anantang on Monday, and succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
On 28 August, the photo of a young girl crying her heart out at her father’s funeral went viral on social media. The young girl was Zohra, the daughter of slain Jammu and Kashmir police officer Abdul Rashid who lost his life in anti-militancy operations in south Kashmir’s Anantnag the same day.
The Jammu and Kashmir police penned a heartfelt letter to show support for Zohra, and the letter went viral on Twitter and Facebook.
“Every drop of your tear sears our heart,” reads the post on Facebook.
Assuring support to the young girl, the letter calls the force “one family at this critical phase.”
The photo took Twitter by a storm, with condolences and sympathies pouring in from all quarters.
Rashid was shot at by suspected militants and succumbed to injuries at the hospital. His wreath laying ceremony was conducted the same day and was attended by SP Vaid, Director General of J&K Police, in Srinagar.
