With 12 Terror Attacks, 2016 Witnessed the Bloodiest Ramadan

The twelve mentioned attacks have claimed close to 500 lives during the holy month of Ramadan.

The holy month of Ramadan turned into a month of mourning with over twelve terror attacks world-wide. On the eve of Eid, which marks the end of a month-long fast observed by members of the Muslim community, the world lost close to 500 lives; excluding the lives of attackers.

These 12 attacks were inspired by various reasons — from homophobia to xenophobia to religious extremism.

Three suicide attacks by suspected ISIS terrorists across Saudi Arabia including one outside the Prophet Muhammad’s Mosque in Medina killed 4.

Baghdad, 2 July

Over 200 were killed in a late night suicide bomb attack in a busy market area. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.

Dhaka, 1 July

Twenty eight were killed including many foreign nationals after six terrorists stormed into a café in Dhakha. The government claimed terrorists belonged to Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh.

Kabul, 30 June

Thirty seven policemen were killed in a twin suicide attack by Taliban on a police convoy in the outskirts of Kabul.

Syria, 29 June

Ten people were killed in a car bomb blast in the city of Tel Abyad in northern Syria. Daesh terrorists claimed responsibility.

Three suicide attackers suspected to be linked to ISIS killed 41 people outside Istanbul’s Ataturk airport.

Yemen, 27 June

43 were killed in three suicide attacks in the south-eastern city of Al Mukalla. ISIS claimed responsibility.

Pampore, 25 June

Twenty three people were killed in multiple blasts including 14 Nepali security guards who were working in the Canadian embassy, Taliban was behind the attacks.
