American President Barack Obama expresses anger over Charleston shooting. He said, such incidents of gun violence do not happen in other advanced countries.

Obama, in a statement to reporters at the White House, said he and his wife, Michelle, knew the pastor of the church who was killed.

Gunman spares a woman

While the gunman shot dead three male victims and six females, he spared one woman so she could ‘tell the world what happened’, an eye witnesses said.

A five-year-old child who was inside the church survived the attack by playing dead after her grandmother told her to do so, the Dailymail reported.

Police have released CCTV images of the white gunman who shot dead nine people in a possible race-hate crime at an African-American church in South Carolina.

Officers with dogs searched the streets for the suspect, whom police described as a 21-year-old white man with sandy blond hair, slender build, clean shaven and wearing a grey sweatshirt, blue jeans and Timberland boots.

The gunfire erupted inside Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston on Wednesday night, Mullen said.
