Under Threat From Arab Nations, Al Jazeera Demands Press Freedom
Al-Jazeera is a media house from Qatar - a country currently under boycott from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, etc.
More than a week after Saudi Arabia and three other Arab nations imposed the demand on Qatar that the state-funded Al Jazeera TV be closed down, the media house has come up with a sharp response on Facebook emphasising on their demands in order to upholding press freedom.

Carrying the refrain "We Demand", the video features several journalists speaking in different languages demanding the right to “do their jobs” without any “intimidation” and “threat”. They emphasise on the importance of valuing “diversity of thought and opinion” and demand that they be treated with dignity as journalists. The ultimate message is to respect press freedom.
Qatar is under boycott from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt as these countries have accused it of backing militants. Apart from closing down Al Jazeera, the other demands which were raised by these countries included curbing ties with Iran and shutting down a Turkish military base in Doha.
