On 14 April, 1912, at approximately 11.40 pm the Titanic hit an iceberg and by 2.20 am the ship broke and sank to the seabed. More than 1500 people died in the disaster which caused worldwide shock and outrage. The remains of the Titanic were found 70 years after the ship sank. 105 years after the Titanic sank, here’s a look at some of the interesting memorabilia and facts associated with the ship that “Not even God himself could sink” (to quote an employee of the White Star Line at the launch of the Titanic).

The fourth funnel of the Titanic was reportedly a fake one. It was apparently used as a storage space and also helped made the ship look bigger.

Titanic was the first ocean-liner to have a swimming pool and gym. The swimming pool on the Titanic was available for 1st class passengers only - filled with sea water and priced at $0.25 per ticket.
