  • One person was seriously injured in an early-morning attack in Cologne, Germany, on Monday. There is no evidence of it being a terrorism-related attack, according to the local police.

  • The incident including several suspects was described as a knife and gun attack by a local newspaper. The police found blood and broken pieces of glass at the crime scene.

  • There have been a series of indiscriminate attacks against civilians in Germany in the recent past. Islamic State claimed two of those attacks and a mass shooting in Munich was initially thought to be a terrorist activity.
