From the United States of America to Saudi Arabia and the Caribbean, Indians are spread all across the globe, literally.

The UN’s recent survey on international migration has revealed that India’s diaspora population is the largest across the globe with over 16 million Indians living outside the country.

According to the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs estimates, about 244 million people or 3.3% of the world’s population live in a country other than where they were born.

The maximum concentration of Indians is in the United States with a total population of 4.5 million, according to the latest Indian Foreign Ministry data.

Saudi Arabia and UAE are the next most Indian-populated countries followed by Malaysia and Myanmar.

Take A Look

Other countries with large diaspora include Mexico, Russia, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Ukraine.

Also, two thirds of all migrants in the world are reported to be living in only 20 countries, with the largest number in the United States – about a fifth of the world’s total migrants.
