6 French Soldiers Hurt After Being “Deliberately” Struck by Car

Six French soldiers were injured after a vehicle crashed into them in the western Paris suburb of Levallois-Perret, Paris police authorities said on 9 August.
"Without any doubt, it was a deliberate act," Patrick Balkany, the local mayor of Levallois-Perret, told BFM TV.
"It's an odious act of aggression," Balkany asserted, adding that the car in question was a BMW.
Six soldiers were hurt, four of them lightly and two more seriously, a police department official added in response to a query from Reuters.
BFM TV also reported that the police have arrested a man on a motorway in northern France, but added it was not immediately clear whether the arrest was linked to the attack on the French soldiers.
The TV station said a suspect was shot during the arrest.
However, a judicial source has said that the man arrested on the motorway is a suspect behind the attack.
The Paris police department had earlier said in a tweet, “Police intervention is underway. Search underway for vehicle.”
