The sister of the world’s heaviest woman Eman Ahmed, who came to India from Egypt for a weight-loss surgery in February, has alleged that her sibling has not recovered at all.

According to ANI, Saimma Selim has also said that Dr Muffazal Lakdawala, who has been treating Ahmed since February, is incorrect with his updates about Ahmed’s health and recovery.

Dr Muffazal Lakdawala is a liar and is not giving right/factual updates about Eman’s recovery. Eman has not recovered one bit.

However, Dr Lakdawala has denied all allegations in the matter.

The doctor said that Eman is doing well, and in turn has alleged that Saimma is making these claims as she does not want to take her sister back to Egypt, owing to financial conditions.

Eman is fine and is doing well. She has recovered well and only a CT scan is to be done to ascertain her neurological condition. Actually, everything was right with Saimma for initial 15 days after Eman’s treatment started, but when she recovered and we suggested that she can be taken back to Egypt, Saimma started to create all this drama as she doesn’t want to take her sister back to Egypt due to financial reasons.

Speaking to The Quint, doctor Lakadwala added:

The CT scan report suggests an old vascular insult in the left MCA territory of her brain. There is no appreciable area of fresh infarct or intracranial haemorrhage as reported by Dr. Rajiv Mehta, Chief consultant and head of Dept of Imaging Sciences at Saifee Hospital.

Head of Department of Neurology at Saifee and Reliance Hospitals and Eman’s treating neurologist, Dr Arun B Shah has said that this CT scan proves that no fresh stroke has happened after her arrival at Saifee Hospital adding that the cause of her repeated seizures is now due to scar epilepsy.

Ahmed Lost 250 Kgs in Two Months

Earlier, Lakdawala had said that Ahmed will be moved to the CT scan room from her ward soon, where people can see the difference between Saimma’s claims and Ahmed’s real condition.

Ahmed, who was the heaviest woman in the world, weighing over 500 kg, has lost 250 kg in a span of two months since her surgery.

Eman has done miraculously well. We actually didn’t expect her to do this well because we had estimated that in six odd months, she would lose around 200 kg. The weight loss has also dramatically improved her health. Eman’s heart, kidneys and lungs are functioning better, and her water retention levels are also under control.

Talking about the challenges his team faced, Lakdawala said:

More than a challenge, we took it as a humanitarian cause. We just couldn’t see her lying like that, so helpless, simply waiting for death to come. The risks of this case were 99%. I think now, we have given her a chance to live. If she gets physiotherapy done and wants to be able to walk, Eman will have to put in the efforts.

The doctor said that Ahmed will be weighed again in three to four weeks and they hope she will come under the 200 kg mark.
