Minister of Urban Well-Being, Housing and Local Government Abdul Rahman Dahlan, who is also Communications Director for Najib’s ruling coalition, has admitted that Prime Minister Najib Razak was the mysterious unnamed official who, according to the US Justice Department, took part in the looting of state funds, putting rest to widespread suspicions.

It’s obvious that the so-called ‘Malaysian Official 1’ referred to by the US Justice Department is our Prime Minister.

The lawsuit was filed in July and put allegations on the unnamed official as the chief conspirator for diverting vast sums from state investment fund, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Rahman’s comments will accelerate the ongoing demands for the removal of Najib. In fact, tens of thousands of people had protested heavily in Kuala Lumpur against the scandal in August.

Najib, on the other hand, has denied the allegations, shut down investigations and removed critics from his party. He has also restricted media reportage on the matter.
