RIP Tarishi Jain, A Life Snuffed Out at Just 19 

Jain had finished her schooling from the American School in Dhaka and was pursuing her studies in California.

Tarishi Jain, a 19 year old Indian girl , was among the 20 killed by ISIS in Dhaka’s Holey Artisan Bakery attack. She was an Economics student at California’s Berkeley College and was in Dhaka for an internship.

Tarishi’s relatives said she had gone to Holey with her friends for dinner on Friday night. The relatives were informed about her death after 3 am. They have requested the government to bring back her body to India.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted saying she’s arranging visa for Tarishi’s relatives to visit Bangladesh, as they are deeply saddened and wanted to go to Dhaka.

She was reportedly awarded an internship program by Eastern Bank Limited in 2016 and her project was on ‘EBL-commerce growth opportunity in Bangladesh’.

Tarishi’s Facebook profile showed she was a member of the International Students Association at Berkeley. She posted photographs with friends and family, and from past vacations in Switzerland and Turkey.

Her father Sanjeev Jain has been running a garment business in Bangladesh for last 15-20 years.
