  • An American professor and an Australian professor were abducted at gun point, according to media reports, outside the American University of Afghanistan on Sunday.

  • This comes on the heels of another attack only a few days ago on foreigners in Western Afghanistan, which the Taliban had claimed responsibility for. Taliban leader Haibatullah Akhundzada has proclaimed his belief in getting rid of foreign occupation for unity in Afghanistan.

  • Earlier last month, an Indian aid worker was abducted in Kabul and then returned to India.
