A viral video showing a female Pakistani polling officer claims that she allowed ‘cheating’ over the course of voting during the recently concluded national election at her booth.

At the time of writing this, the video had over 6,700 shares.

THE VIDEO IS FALSE

According to the Secretary of the Pakistan Election Commission, the video is not from the 2018 election, but from some other election.

Addressing a press conference, he said:

This is not from this election, but some previous election as the ballot paper shown in the video is different, also the stamp shown is different.

VIRAL OVER THE YEARS

According to AFP Fact Check, the video has made an appearance repeatedly before every election in Pakistan, including the 2008 elections in Karachi.

In fact, the AFP report points at a 2015 thread on Siasat warning people that the video is fake.
