This post had gained over three lakh views on the platform. Archives of similar such claims can be found here, here, and here.

What is the truth?: The video dates back to May 2018 and is unrelated to the recent conflict that involved the US and Iran. This makes the claim misleading.

How did we find that out?: We conducted a simple keyword search with the words "iran burn us flag parliament" and found the same visuals published on the official YouTube channel of 'Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty'.

  • The video was published on 9 May 2018. Its title said, "Iranian Lawmakers Burn U.S. Flag In Parliament."

News reports: A report published in CNBC said that Iranian hardline lawmakers had set a paper US flag on fire and shouted "Death to America" in the Parliament.

  • The move came after US President Donald Trump pulled the 2015 nuclear accord.

  • As per the report, the agreement signed in 2015 imposed restrictions on Iran's nuclear program in exchange for lifting most US and international sanctions.

The report was published on 9 May 2018.

Conclusion: It is evident that the video is old and is being incorrectly shared as recent visuals.
