A video of a military personnel receiving a grand welcome is being shared on the internet to claim that it shows him coming back home after India's Operation Sindoor against Pakistan.

Those sharing the clip have captioned it saying, "Soldier coming back home after the Sindoor operation, What a lovely moment."

What are the facts?: The viral video could be traced back to at least August 2023, which predates the Operation Sindoor. This makes the claim false.

News reports: A simple reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral clip directed us to a news report published by The Indian Express that carried the same visuals.

• The report said that an undated video of a Sikh soldier receiving a grand welcome by his family members after coming home from training went viral on social media platforms.

• It was published on 16 August 2023.

Conclusion: While we could not independently verify the location or date of the video, it is clear that the clip predates the Operation Sindoor.
