Is this statement recent?: No, it's old. The video dates back to 26 June 2024, when Sharma was addressing a press conference and discussed Australia getting knocked out from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

Hints in the viral image: We took a closer look at the image and found that the signboard in the background carried text, which said "ICC MEN'S T20 WORLD CUP WEST INDIES & USA 2024".

Finding the original video: On performing a keyword search using the words "rohit sharma press conference t20 world cup 2024", we found the full-length version published on the official YouTube channel of Star Sports.

• It was posted on 26 June 2024 with a title that said, "EXCLUSIVE: Rohit Sharma's FULL Press Conference before #INDvENG."

• At around the 15:18 timestamp, a person could be heard asking, "Rohit, what's the big takeaway for you as batsman and the team from the victory against Australia."

To which, Sharma responded by saying, "That there's no more Australian cricket team in this competition (laughs)."
