A message is going viral online which claims that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a new regulation about banks across India to operate only five days a week, starting from April 2025.

This comes after the United Forum of Bank Unions decided to hold a nationwide strike on 24 and 25 March demanding a five-day work week for the banking sector, enhanced recruitment across all cadres, and regularisation of temporary employees.

However, they later called off the strike.
