A set of two photos is going viral online which shows multiple dead bodies lying amidst the valley while some police officers and locals watch them in distress.
Users are sharing these images and linking it to the recent terror attack that happened in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
X (formerly Twitter) account @MeghUpdates who often shares misinformation has also shared this claim.
This marks as the deadliest attack in the region since the 2019 Pulwama strike.
According to the sources in the central agencies, the Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow group of the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group, has reportedly claimed responsibility for the strike.
What's the truth?: These images are not real and generated using AI.
How did we find out the truth?: We ran the images on AI-detection tools, Hive Moderation and Sight Engine, and the results concluded that these images are AI-generated.

The tools concluded 96.2 percent and 99 percent likeliness of this image being AI-generated.

We also found some errors in the images like unusual shape of faces, half cut bodies and ill-formed faces.
The discrepancies in these photos pointed toward them being AI-generated images.

Moreover, none of the credible media agencies have shared these pictures as real ones of the tragic terror attack.
Conclusion: AI-generated images showing dead bodies amidst a valley are being falsely linked to Pahalgam terror attack.
