A video showing an alleged fighter jet being shot down has gone viral to claim that it depicts India shooting down Pakistan's jets, when the conflict between the two countries was at its peak.
This post gathered 1 million views at the time of writing this story. (Archives of similar claims can be found here and here.)
Is the claim true?: No, the claim is false.
The video dates back to 2022 and shows a Russian SU-30 fighter jet shot down by a United States (US)-made Stinger missile in Ukraine.
What we found: We divided the video into multiple screenshots and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them.
We came across a report by The Sun from 26 September 2022 which carried the same viral video.
The report noted that the clip showed 'the moment' a Russian SU-30 fighter jet was shot down by a US-made Stinger missile in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine.
The Stinger missiles have been used by Ukrainian forces to successfully target and destroy Russian aircraft, including a SU-25 fighter jet and a MI-35M attack helicopter.
The news outlet reported that Ukraine secured Stinger missiles by Lithuania with the consent of the USA.
Here is a preview of the report.

Similarly, The Sun uploaded this video on their YouTube channel, as well in September 2022.
Express UK also reported on this incident in September 2022.
Conclusion: An old and unrelated video has gone viral to falsely claim that it shows India shooting down Pakistan's jets.
