CLAIM

A photograph of a notice by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), announcing the reconduct of the Class 12 Board Physics and Economics examinations, has been doing the rounds on WhatsApp.

A reader sent across the following image to WebQoof to check the veracity of the notice:

The notice says that the Board has taken cognisance of ‘certain happenings’ in the conduct of certain examinations and has decided to reconduct the same.

THE TRUTH

The notice is fake and has been photoshopped with the intent to spread misinformation.

The Board has issued a public advisory on its official website to declare that the notice doing the rounds is inauthentic.

“All stakeholders and public is requested not to give any heed to the rumours,” the advisory read.

The photoshopped image uses an earlier notice issued by CBSE as its base layer. The dates and the exam names have been changed using the photo-editing software.
