After former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh took a jibe at his successor Narendra Modi over meeting with the press, a viral post on social media claims he answered "tough questions after 2G scam".

The edited video is posted by Nation With NaMo on their social media pages. At the beginning of the video, Singh can be seen attending an event where he said that he was not the prime minister who did not talk to the press. "I met the press regularly," he said.

Ten seconds into the video, another clip from 2011 starts playing, where a journalist asked the former prime minister which cricket team was he supporting in the World Cup, that was held in India.

The video has been shared by many on social media.

TRUE OR FALSE?

The edited video clip is actually from an interactive 'Q and A' session with the journalists, which was held on 16 February, 2011 and was a live broadcast on DD National.

The question of the cricket World Cup 2011 was asked by News24’s Editor-in-Chief Anurradha Prasad.

However, this is not the complete video of that press meet and that was not the only question answered by him.

Several senior journalists present at the session directed questions related to 2G scam at him. He was asked about his reappointment of A Raja as Telecom minister after the latter ignored his advice of auctioning the 2G scam in 2007.

In a video archive of NDTV, it could be seen that Singh answered the question, which lasted for at least nine minutes.

Another journalist had asked former PM Manmohan Singh whether he would agree to the demand of the then Oppostion of a Joint Parliamentary Committee on 2G scam.

To this, he replied that he was willing to appear before the JPC and his answer lasted for more than two minutes.
