A video of a huge explosion taking place, while a person could be seen recording it on their mobile phone, is being circulated on the internet as recent visuals of Iran attacking the US airbase in Qatar.
What did the viral post say?: Those sharing the clip have uploaded it with a caption that said, "Iran attacks US airbase in Qatar with ballistic missiles. Boom Boom Attack."
Along with this, media outlet Punjab Kesari Himachal Pradesh (archive here) shared it on their official YouTube channel as well.

What is the truth?: The video has been generated using the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and does not show real visuals.
Hints in the viral video: We noticed that the clip carried a watermark of Sora at the bottom-right side. For the unversed, Sora is a tool developed by OpenAI, which generates video based on text prompts.
This indicated towards the possibility of the viral clip being generated using an AI tool.

What did detection tools show?: Team WebQoof passed the video through two AI detection tools namely — 'Hive Moderation' and 'DeepFake-O-Meter' to further verify its authenticity.
The first tool showed over 99 percent probability of the video being an AI-generated one.
It should be noted that one of the detectors of DeepFake-O-Meter showed around 100 percent chance of the viral clip being generated using AI.

Other details regarding the clip: On conducting a reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral video, we found a post shared on X that talked about the video dating back to April of this year.
The post also carried the link to the older version of the video.
While the link is not available anymore, we found an archive that clearly showed that the video dated back to 21 April.
It was also labelled as AI-generated by the creator.
The video was uploaded on 21 April.

Conclusion: It is evident that the video has been generated using AI and does not show real visuals.
